London Transport

The public transport of London is some of the best in the world. The underground train system (often called the Tube) and the bus routes mean you can get anywhere in the capital quickly, easily and cheaply. Whilst you can pay for each journey individually, it is much cheaper to get a Travelcard or an Oyster Card.

You can get a daily, weekly or monthly London travelcard that allows you to use any public transport at no extra cost during that time. An Oyster Card is what most locals have and allows you put credit on a card that you then scan at stations or on buses. You can find out all about both of these below. Whilst the public transport in London is pretty easy to understand, it can be useful to get a London transport planner, which you can also find here.

Having your own copy of a tube map is a great lifeline when plotting a route. Get the London Tube Map app so you've always got the information to hand. Compatible with the iPhone.
